Hello Intertrons! This has been a long time coming for me. Over the past two or three years I’ve started many blogs on many different sites, finally coming to settle on Wordpress, obviously. My past attempts at blogging have only tended to hold my attention for a few days, mainly because they’ve been horribly unfocused. Instead of attempting something personal, I’ve tried to be all hip an clever and start a blog with a certain theme. One day I might want to be like the crew of SportsCentre and have a hockey blog, the next day I might want to be like Arianna Huffington and be the next big political blogger, and more recently I’ve wanted to be like Merlin Mann and start my own version of 43folders, a Getting Things Done (GTD) blog. Clearly this hasn’t worked, and I figure the reason is that I have no personal investment in it, it’s just been some sort of geeky ego project. That’s gonna change starting now!
So what is Clearly Unclear going to be all about? The tag line I’m using at the top of the site right now, this will probably change a million times over, is “A 20-something’s quest to wander through the fog of life…”. Could I be any more broad with that statement? Probably not, though earlier incarnations may have came close. Perhaps the easiest way to explain it would be it’s going to be somewhat of a daily journal, but one with a point. As I mentioned above, one of my past blogs (if you can call one post a blog) was about Getting Things Done. I’ll explain what that is in greater detail in a later post, but to put it simply it’s a personal productivity system. So Clearly Unclear is going to be my journal, but you’ll see a large amount of posts detailing how I’m using GTD and other lifehacks (more on that later as well) to accomplish goals in my life like, most notably at the moment, completing my Political Science degree. Like I said, it’s not going to be all about that, I’ll be writing plenty on experiences with friends, my most recent anger at my dear old Toronto Maple Leafs, my borderline fanboy obsession with Apple, and other exciting tidbits of my life.
Few will read this initial post, but if you are thanks a bunch and feel free to comment below!
