A blog post over on the /Film Blog, showcasing a video of Quentin Tarantino reviewing Paul Thomas Anderson’s 2007 epic There Will Be Blood, pointed me to a whole slate of mini 10-minute reviews that Tarantino did for the premium movie chanel, SkyMovies, in England. Besides the previously mention review, which you should definitly check out, the one that caught my eye was for Danny Boyle’s 2007 sci-fi film, Sunshine.
While I may not agree with everything Tarantino has to say about the movie, listening to him talk about cinema is always thought provoking & entertaining. So definitely check out the review below, and make sure to see the film.
As I said, there’s parts of QT’s review I don’t necessarily agree with. While I do agree that the first two acts are fantastic film making, I don’t think the third act takes anything away from the movie. Would it have been interesting to see the movie Tarantino hoped he was getting after seeing the first two acts? Sure, but in my opinion the movie we got instead was still a very enjoyable film. So go out and rent it NOW!
