A few years ago, I began doing a year end ranking of the music albums I listened to in a given year. While I haven’t kept up on it, I thought that now would be as good a time as any to begin this fun little project once more. Normally I can fall behind on listening to new music, and I find giving myself a project like this pushes me to seek out new albums to listen to.
A few notes to begin, this is a long and often time consuming venture. There’s only a certain amount of free time I have, and life tends to “get in the way” at the most inopportune times, so this by no means is going to be updated on any sort of schedule. Bad albums are also a hazard of doing something like this, and that can bog the process down as well. As I listen to new music, I’ll post the albums in a “To Be Ranked” list, and as I get a better feel for them, they’ll move to a “Ranked” list. As with anything that comes down to personal taste, expect albums to jump around as the year goes by. I’ll also post lists from past years that I’ve done, completed or not.
